ABOUT GODSLAND MINISTRIES – God’s Unconditional Love

WHO WE ARE

Godsland Ministries is an independent Christian ministry founded and led by Pastor John Starkis, an ordained minister in Sparta, Tennessee. We are not a denomination. We are not a building. We are a family of people who have discovered one thing that changed everything: God is love. Not God has love, or God shows love when we earn it. God IS love. And love never fails.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in one God. The Father. Abba. The I AM. The Consuming Fire who is also the still, small whisper. There is one God and one God only, and He is good. We believe God is pure love. Scripture says it plainly: “God is love” (1 John 4:8, 16). “Perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). We take those words at face value. God does not demand blood to forgive. God does not torment His children forever. God does not turn His back on anyone. “I desire mercy, not sacrifice” (Hosea 6:6). “His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 136:1). We believe Jesus was a great prophet and teacher sent by God, who showed us the heart of the Father and taught us the way of love. We believe what Jesus himself taught: that the Father is greater than all, and that the whole law hangs on loving God and loving your neighbor. We believe in the reconciliation of all things. God “is not willing that any should perish” (2 Peter 3:9) and “will have all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4). God does not lose. Love does not lose. “Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:38-39). No one is beyond His reach, and no one is left behind. We believe we are God’s children, made in His image, sharing in His nature. Jesus said, “Ye are gods” (John 10:34, quoting Psalm 82:6). We take that seriously. You are not a worm. You are not a mistake. You are a child of the Most High, and your Father is proud of you.

WHY WE EXIST

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Too many people have been handed a God they are afraid of. A God who is angry, who keeps score, who is waiting to punish. Many of them walked away from church, from faith, from God altogether, because they could not love a tyrant. And they were right not to. But the God they were given was never the real God. Godsland Ministries exists to set people free from the God of fear and introduce them to the God of love. Our founder puts it this way: “I could never deny my own children, no matter what they did. And I am only a man. How much more the Father?” That one realization broke every chain. We exist to help others find the same freedom.

WHERE AND HOW

Godsland Ministries is based in Sparta, Tennessee, in White County. We serve our local community and, through this website, people everywhere. Because Pastor John lives with severe hearing loss, our ministry is carried out primarily through writing, email, text, and this website rather than by telephone. If you reach out, you will receive a written reply.
